About

Hi, I’m Angela.

I’m a creative problem solver at heart, and I like figuring out how to make processes smoother by bringing together function and beauty, something I’ve practiced throughout my work in fine arts and interior design. I’ve always believed the client experience matters as much as the end result.

I’m now bringing that philosophy into digital product and brand design through UX/UI, visual design, and thoughtful customer experiences. By moving into digital experiences, I can apply what I’ve learned to a broader audience and help companies create clearer, more meaningful experiences for their customers.

How I got here

My path has moved from fine art to interior design to digital products. The common thread is that I like solving problems, making ideas visual, and figuring out how to make things work better for people.

  1. Product design2023 to present

Somewhere along the way, I figured out that my favorite part of interior design was the software. I liked building things on my computer, working from home, and solving problems one little detail at a time.

So in 2023, I started taking classes in HTML, CSS, and graphic design. Then I found UX, and it just clicked. I get to help people, make things easier, and be creative about it. I completed my B.S. in User Experience Design at Western Governors University in about a year. Now I’m building my portfolio, working with freelance clients, and continuing to learn.

  2. Interior design2021 to 2025

I chose interior design because I wanted a creative career with a little more stability than fine art alone. I started in furniture sales, where I learned about materials, fabrics, large orders, timelines, and managing customer expectations. I also learned how to balance what customers wanted with the needs of the business, helping create a good customer experience while keeping projects and business goals on track.

Then I moved into online design, where I managed multiple clients and created 3D renderings every week. After that, I worked on tile and cabinetry projects, helping clients plan everything from material selections to entire rooms and large renovations.

My favorite part was always the same. Get the details, dive into the software, and show the client something they can actually picture.

Over time, I realized I wanted to spend more of my day solving digital problems and making things work better behind the scenes. That realization led me to product design.

  3. Fine artSince 2012

Art has been part of my life since I started studying fine art in Portland in 2012. I studied drawing, acrylic, colored pencil, and watercolor, and eventually went on to teach art myself.

I sold paintings, showed my work in coffee shops and galleries, and created custom portraits of people and their dogs. I’ve also designed three book covers, bringing other people’s ideas to life through composition, color, and storytelling.

Need a logo? I can draw it. Need a painting in just the right colors? Done.

These days, I mostly make art because I enjoy it, or to give it away. I’m not trying to turn every creative hobby into a business. Art keeps me curious, and it continues to shape how I think about color, storytelling, and visual design.
